Leaks and consequent bearing damages are the main reasons for the failure of water pumps in about 85% of all cases. Therefore, Schaeffler with its INA brand, as the only supplier in the independent repair market, relies exclusively on a material combination of extremely hard silicon carbide (SIC) for the seal rings and relative soft, flexible hard carbon (HC) for the stationary rings for the mechanical seal of its water pumps.
The advantage of this material combination: It seals the system reliably and is also extremely resistant to thermal shocks and particles circulating in the coolant. Thanks to this material composition, INA water pumps are particularly robust and operate reliably over long periods of time.
By the way: INA water pumps are also available as part of the complete repair solution for belt drives.
Reliable and efficient – that's how an engine must run. An optimum and constant operating temperature, even under constantly changing conditions is a basic prerequisite. The components of the cooling circuit must therefore work together optimally: radiator, coolant, cooling lines as well as the thermostat and water pump are exposed to high loads.
