Does the trick, no more wheel hop in first (haven’t tested it in the wet yet to be fair), and is just one bolt out and back in again to install. Worth the investment.
The overall product seems ok except for the flange that mates the down pipe to the exhaust. The holes seem to close to the pipe. The original had enough room on the flange to use a nut and bolt method to fix it but the 034 item seems to only have enough room for the threaded rod and nut to go on one the exhaust side not on flange that on the cat itself. I have tried to contact 034 Motosport to confirm if this is enough to hold the 2 pieces together but have had no response. If they can confirm that it should be fine then I’ll be more than happy to review my rating. But at the moment I’m not sure if it will be strong enough to hold.

Just keep in mind for the B7 there are two bolts on the left side towards the front which are super hard to get to, not impossible though. I had my mechanic put mine in and now he hates me. Saying that HUGE difference. So much more responsive and a little deeper note. Ive had the remap done and this also made a big diff, just getting a 3inch down pipe fitted to the 2.25 inch standard exhaust as I want to keep the same noise level and there isnt much restriction after the down pipe. It is expensive bang for buck get a remap done first, but for the b7 this is the next best step.
As I'm sure you are already aware of, this tune is highly regarded in the Golf R Mk7.5 community. A word of advice, you MUST get the TCU tune when you buy this as otherwise you will not get the increased clutch pressure required to handle the huge torque increase, which is essential to preserve your clutch packs and flywheel. The best thing about the DSG tune is that it behaves like a performance transmission after flashing. You can still drive in ECO mode if you want a smoother ride to just cruise around with, but with a quick pull back of the shifter you immediately enter Sport mode, or more accurately Beast mode and the car is transformed. If you leave it in auto the shift is perfectly timed from 1st to 2nd after you launch away at full throttle from a stop. The speed of the shift is mind blowing, but it also protects your clutch as the clamping pressure is instant, so no clutch dust contaminating your transmission oil (yes, it's a wet clutch which keeps it all cool). The DQ381 is used across the board with no modifications necessary. The full blown track cars only differ from stock in their tuning, and with all the different modes you can select, it's an amazingly versatile transmission. Eco is massively different to Sport or the ultimate Beast mode, Race. Take it easy on using Launch Mode as even in stock form this is hard on the clutch packs, and ultimately a 3000RPM soft launch is best. A soft launch being releasing the brake a bit more gradually. I only once ripped my foot off the brake during a launch and it was brutal, and that was with the stock ECU tune. You really need to show some respect to your drivetrain and not do any slamming launches, especially with other people in the car as this just adds more stress. If you really want to perfect your driving I highly recommend using your paddle shifters. Not many people realise this, but by using them you exercise the mechatronic unit and maintain its health. I have got in the habit of mixing auto and paddle shifts to the stage now that I can drive the car like a limousine with the perfect shift points in ECO mode. It's no imposition as I don't even think about it anymore, I've just become ONE with the car. It's a bit like the Golf R brakes which seemed super grabby at first, but now they feel perfect and I wouldn't change a thing, other than switching to EBC Red pads at some stage as they have the same feel, just perform better in some circumstances, but mainly have way less dust. As far as the ECU tune goes, get ready for 50% more turbo boost and the turbo spool time is faster, but also utter perfection. I'd recommend leaving the traction control on at first so not to get yourself in trouble planting it coming out of corners. The traction control on our cars is perfect. I've flattened it out of corners in the wet and with good tyres the acceleration is epic... in the wet!!! Best tyres? Continental SportContact 7. It transforms the handling and grip to track levels on the street. They also last longer than the Pirelli P Zero and are a better tyre in all respects on our cars. Not by a lot, but you will save about $200-$300 on a set. Enjoy.
