Why is AL552 ZF8 TCU Software necessary on the CREC EA837 3.0T?
As with any automatic transmission vehicle, the ECU and TCU computers work synchronously to properly apply torque to the vehicles drivetrain in a safe and reliable manner. Within both the ECU and TCU, there are factory safety tables that limit overall torque output based upon what the factory first tuned the car for. The ECU reports the output of torque from the engine to the TCU, and the TCU decides if this is suitable, or too much. If it is too much, the TCU will command the ECU to reduce torque output based upon its safety tables. We recommend you pair the stage 1 ECU tune with the ZF8 TCU tune.

THERMAL MANAGEMENT SAFETY STRATEGIES:
With increased power, comes increased heat. With increased heat, comes the need for additional management. For charge air temperature, 034Motorsport has implemented key safety features to keep your engine running optimally and safely in virtually any condition - just like the OEM calibration. Substantial effort was spent on balancing the trade off of charge temp for power, and improving the compressor efficiency so that it doesn't generate too much charge temp.
Charge Air Temp: When the charge temp exceeds 75*C there is a reduction in power output to limit the charge temp from going higher. This charge temp limitation is there to prevent knock events, which can severely damage a motor. With these safety measures in place, you can confidently drive your car, from the top of Pikes Peak to Death Valley, knowing the factory ECU has optimal performance and safety covered. When the vehicle is on, the supercharger coolant pump will run at 100% duty cycle to ensure your charge temps stay with an optimal range.
Coolant Temp/Fan Strategy: From the factory, Audi likes to run hotter water temps to reduce fluid friction losses from cooler, more viscous oil. While better for efficiency, this strategy becomes a safety issue when loads and heat are increased. 034Motorsport calibrators have rescaled the coolant temperature targets and fan control strategies to target lower coolant temperatures when in higher heat conditions, allowing the car to run within a safe heat range rescaled for the added heat that comes from tuning the engine. Once again, this means that 034Motorsport calibrators have kept your confidence in safety fully intact from the OEM configuration.
FUEL SYSTEM OPTIMIZATION:
While E85 provides substantial increases in power, it requires about 30% more fuel than standard pump gasoline per ignition cycle. Utilizing a variety of fuel stratified injection strategies, 034Motorsport calibrators have further optimized the factory fueling system to be able to adequately support full E85 on factory hardware for Stage 1 & 2.
START/STOP FUNCTIONALITY:
The Dynamic+ Tuning options for the EA837 3.0T all retain the Start/Stop engine functionality, but allow users to set memory for the system based upon preference. If you do not want the Start/Stop system to run, turn it off via the in-cabin button and the car will store that selection even after key cycling the car. If you would like it to stay on, select it to be on via the in-cabin button. This is done in a completely OEM fashion, helping enhance the overall experience of driving your car!
FREE REVVING IN NEUTRAL AND PARK:
The lower stationary rev-limiter is now removed while in Neutral and Park. Impress friends and annoy those around you with limitless ease!
Locked Supercharger Clutch Support:
034Motorsport offers files that support the locking of the factory CAS (Clutch Actuated Supercharger) system for all stages. At both stock & higher power levels, this CAS system can fail prematurely, causing reduced power output and error codes. While Audi implemented a clutched supercharger to help improve fuel efficiency for light load driving to reduce drivetrain losses, this can come at a detriment to increased performance.
034Motorsport offers files that support the 034Motorsport Billet CREC Supercharger Clutch Delete Kit, allowing you to delete the factory CAS system for improved performance. Additionally, the factory supercharger clutch system can have clunky engagement & disengagement, causing poor drivability and throttle response.

AL552 8-Speed ZF8 TCU Tune Features
Improved Torque Management:
Required to safely unlock the full performance from your ECU tune, 034Motorsport’s proprietary calibrations for the AL552 TCU safely and effectively optimize its operation for Stage 1, Stage 2, or Stage 2+ Dynamic+ Performance ECU Software. As with any automatic transmission vehicle, the ECU and TCU computers work synchronously to properly apply torque to the vehicle's drivetrain in a safe and reliable manner.
Optimized Shift Points:
In order to take advantage of the increased powerband from the supercharger, Dynamic+ Tuning optimizes the shift points in Drive & Sport Mode to maximize acceleration while retaining smooth drivability.
Kickdown Switch Disabled in Manual Mode:
When in Manual mode, you no longer need to worry about accidentally pushing through the kickdown switch on the throttle pedal!
Improved Shift Speeds:
To further enhance the acceleration of your Audi, the ZF8 shift times are dramatically decreased in all driving modes, which ultimately results in quicker acceleration.
Shift pressures are also increased in Sport Mode to maximize performance. In Sport Mode, you will notice less lazy shifts, more firm shifts, which ultimately results in quicker acceleration.
AMAX Shifting:
AMAX Shifting is a shifting strategy that stands for “Acceleration Maximum.” These gear shifts are the fastest and quickest possible for optimal acceleration . These are activated in shifting after launching your vehicle from a stop using launch control.
The Q7 has AMAX now activated in the 4-5, 5-6, and 6-7 shifts where it was previously disabled from the factory.
034MOTORSPORT 3.0 TFSI (CREC) ECU STAGE DESCRIPTIONS
3.0 TFSI (CREC) Stage 1:
034Motorsport Stage 1 Performance Software for the 4M Q7 3.0 TFSI is engineered to safely increase horsepower and torque with no hardware modifications required. 034Motorsport's proprietary calibrations increase boost by controlling the supercharger bypass, while optimizing timing and fueling maps in the Simos 16 ECU to extract additional power from the 3.0 TFSI engine.
In addition to power improvements, 034Motorsport's engineers spent a significant amount of time refining the throttle mapping in both Dynamic and Comfort modes to provide improved throttle response and allow for more precise throttle modulation, for further control of the vehicle when driving on track.
034Motorsport 3.0 TFSI CREC Performance Software is flashed via the factory OBD-II port, and does not require any physical modification of the factory ECU. Stage 1 is available in 95 Octane, 98 Octane, 105 Octane, and E85 Octane files. ALL FILES ARE US (MON+RON) RATING, ROW OCTANE RATINGS MAY DIFFER.
3.0 TFSI (CREC) Stage 2 (PULLEY UPGRADE)
034Motorsport Stage 2 Performance Software for the 4M Q7 3.0 TFSI is engineered to further increase horsepower and torque output over Stage 1 levels with the addition of a 179mm or 190mm Crankshaft Supercharger Pulley Upgrade. The 179mm or 190mm Crankshaft Supercharger Pulley Upgrade allows for increased boost pressure from the factory Eaton TVS1320 Supercharger throughout the powerband, while 034Motorsport's proprietary calibrations safely yield additional power from the 3.0 TFSI engine. With high supercharger pulley ratios, the factory CAS (Clutch Acuated Supercharger) system can fail prematurely. By removing the factory clutch and upgrading to the 034Motorsport CREC Supercharger Clutch Delete, owners are able to experience reliable and consistent power, without worry of the factory supercharger clutch slipping.

3.0 TFSI (CREC) Stage 2.5
034Motorsport Stage 2.5 Performance Software for the 4M Audi Q7 3.0T CREC is engineered to deliver substantial increases in horsepower and torque over Stage 2 levels, achieved with the addition of 034Motorsport’s 179mm or 190mm Lower Crank Pulley in combination with our upper pulley. Alternatively, the 207mm Crank Pulley can be paired with the factory upper pulley to reach the same Stage 2+ pulley ratio. These pulley upgrades allow the factory Eaton TVS1320 Supercharger to generate higher boost levels across the powerband, while 034Motorsport’s proprietary calibrations extract safe, reliable power from the 3.0T CREC engine.
Stage 2+ Performance Software also raises the redline to 7,200 RPM, extending the usable powerband and producing greater peak horsepower than the stock 7,000 RPM limit. Beyond the gains in power, throttle mapping has been carefully refined in both Dynamic and Comfort drive modes to improve response and provide more precise throttle modulation. Stage 2+ also enables left-foot braking, giving drivers greater control of the Q7’s dynamics under spirited driving.
Despite these performance gains, the Q7 remains a comfortable and highly capable SUV. Stage 2+ retains full factory-like drivability, meaning your Q7 still handles everyday tasks—whether it’s grocery runs, school drop-offs, long road trips, or even towing—without compromise. Even with the increased performance of Stage 2+, fuel economy is not negatively impacted during regular driving (assuming you have enough self-control to stay out of the throttle!). The added power only enhances versatility, giving your Q7 the performance of a true sport SUV while preserving the refinement and practicality expected from Audi.

Q: What do I need to tune my vehicle with a laptop?
A: Windows 10/11 laptop, strong/stable internet connection, Dynamic+ flashing cable, a 20-amp battery supply charger/maintaner, and tuning account access.
- I have everything I need what do I do next?
- Please download the 034 flashing client if you haven't already, and review the Getting Started guide. You'll need to register your username on 034 Motorsport's server, by inputting your username/email address in the applicable field, and clicking the "Forgot/Reset Password" link. This will send an email to you that will allow you to set your own password, which you'll need to use to log into the flashing client software. Once you are logged into the flashing client, please click on the controller that you wish to program (either ECU - engine, or TCU - transmission) and proceed through the steps listed in the "Getting Started" guide to flash that controller. The files labeled "Stock" are completely OEM software calibrations, as you would have received from the factory, so please only flash these if you wish to go back to stock tuning.
- I received an error message stating that "No products are available for this controller", what do I do?
- If you receive the error message "No products are available for this controller", please email tuning@034motorsport.com directly, and someone from their tuning support team will advise you on the steps that they will take to get you access to the files that were purchased.

Q: How hard is the flashing process?
A: This is NOT a difficult process. If you have the ability to open and email and send an email, this is the same level of computer literacy needed.
Q: How long does the flashing process take?
A: The total time to tune the car is around 30 mins. Flashing between files, upgrading and so on once you have done the first installation is a couple of minutes.

Q: What is 91 AKI and 93 AKI? RON to AKI?
A: 91AKI is 95 RON and 93 AKI is 98 RON. When flashing select the file appropriate to the fuel octane you are using.
