Fits Volkswagen & Audi 1.8T and 2.0T FSI EA113 motors such as Volkswagen Golf MK5 GTI, MK6R, A3/S3 8P, TT 8J, TTS 8J, A4 B7, Scirocco R, EOS, Jetta, Passat and more!

If you have EA888 you need the 034 TSI rear main seal.

034Motorsport’s Billet Aluminium Rear Main Seal is designed to replace the failure-prone stamped steel factory Rear Main Seal on your 1.8T or 2.0T FSI Volkswagen and Audi. This Billet Rear Main Seal is CNC machined from 6061-T6 Aluminium and features an OEM Viton Elring seal with an integral tension spring to ensure a tight seal to the crankshaft.

The OEM rear main seal utilizes a poorly designed PTFE “sealing lip” which over time leads to an oil leak between your engine and transmission. The failure of a rear main seal can also cause crankcase pressure issues and possibly even misfires.

The 034Motorsport Billet Aluminium Rear Main Seal has been tested and proven to last under high heat and intense abuse and is an excellent upgrade for replacing your leaking rear main seal. It is also an outstanding preventative maintenance modification that can save you from future headaches of oil leaks, stained driveways, and reduced performance that a leaky OEM rear main seal brings with it.

Installation:

Remove and install crankshaft seal retainer as per factory service manual with the following notes:

  • Use oil compatible RTV ONLY (black usually)
  • Torque all bolts to 15NM
  • When installing, push guide sleeve from repair kit onto crankshaft
  • Do not apply oil to the sealing lip of the seal
  • Make sure that the sealing lip of the sealing ring is not folded back or damaged when installing

Service & Maintenance Guide

Minor Service - Oil Service

Every 10k is a minor service - oil and filter. Do not follow the factory 15K and go 7k for tuned vehicles. Oil is cheap, engines are not!

Intermediate Service

Every 30k is an intermediate service - oil and filter, cabin filter & air filter, brake fluid flush, remote batteries.

Major Service

Every 60k is a major service - oil and filter, cabin filter & air filter, remote batteries, brake fluid flush, fuel filter, DSG gearbox oil and filter (unless automatic, manual, tiptronic or multitronic), spark plugs and haldex oil.

Additional: Water pump & timing belt and poly belt on belt driven engines should be done every 60k.

Intermediate Service

Every 90k is another intermediate service - same as 30k plus a poly belt / accessory belt.

Replace Haldex fluid every 30k rather than 60k, Gearbox oil change at 40k for DSG is advised. Front and rear differential oils are "longlife" but replace every 60k to be safe.
